4Culture is offering another round of funding for stewardship of historic properties all around King County, including those within the City of Seattle, through the Landmark Challenge Grants program. This program funds “bricks and mortar” projects on individually landmarked buildings, sites, structures, objects as well as those in designated districts. Funds awarded through this program may be used for upfront structural or conditions assessments, preservation plans, and cost estimating; architectural design and engineering; materials and contracted labor; essential building systems; and certain project management costs.
4Culture’s Landmark Challenge Grant application period is now open, and Wednesday noon-time workshops are underway through June 27th. Application deadline is July 11. Guidelines and applications are on the 4Culture website.
- Eligible properties: Seattle landmarks, contributing properties in districts, King County landmarks and suburban city landmarks
- Eligible activities: bricks & mortar, also project planning, design, permits, etc.
- Cost share: 1-to-1 cash match required
- Minimum ask: $10,000
- Applicants must indicate their intent to apply, and schedule a site visit
