“Our Pioneer Square” Gift Card Matching Program

The Alliance for Pioneer Square is launching the “Our Pioneer Square” gift card matching program to help local Pioneer Square businesses dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Alliance for Pioneer Square will spend up to $5,000 by offering a match on gift cards purchased by upper floor offices of the community at Pioneer Square businesses.

Pioneer Square businesses continue to struggle, although we are hopeful that with more vaccinations and more assistance coming, economic recovery is on the horizon. The Alliance for Pioneer Square gift card matching program will help Pioneer Square employers, especially retailers, restaurants, service-based, and more, during this crucial period.

The Alliance for Pioneer Square has committed to spending up to $5,000 in matching gift card funds to assist local Pioneer Square businesses remain viable, during and after the current COVID-19 pandemic.

How much money can a business receive from this program?

Pioneer Square businesses can receive a matching reimbursement of funds spent on Pioneer Square gift cards up to of the total amount spent. All reimbursements must be approved by the Alliance for Pioneer Square.

What businesses are eligible to purchase gift cards from?

Gift cards must be purchased from a Pioneer Square business. See the Pioneer Square Business Listing Map for a current list of businesses. 

As a participating business, how do I get my matching funds from the Alliance for Pioneer Square?

Here‘s how it works:

  1. Submit an Intent to Purchase form to us detailing your requested matching funds. You’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know we received the form.
  2. An Alliance for Pioneer Square staff member will reach out to confirm the receipt of your form and approve your matched amount.
  3. Purchase the pre-approved gift card amounts. 
  4. Send us a copy of the purchase receipt.
  5. The Alliance will mail your matched funds within 1-2 weeks.

Are all gift cards purchased from Pioneer Square businesses eligible for reimbursement?

Yes, all gift card purchases are eligible for reimbursement up to 20% of the total amount purchased. You can ensure that a business is located within the Pioneer Square district boundaries by verifying the business on our neighborhood business listing map.

How long will this program last?

The matching part of the program will last until the fund is depleted. Each purchase is subject to verification of matching funds being available.

*The gift cards must be purchased directly from a Pioneer Square business to receive a match. Matching gift card funds will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out. (Individual business gift card rules and limitations may apply.)
