Pike Place Express Market Returns to Pioneer Square

It’s back! The Pike Place Market Express Market has returned to Pioneer Square for a second year, making fresh produce easily accessible throughout the entire summer! The Express markets bring the Market’s fresh, local produce to Seattle residents and workers via “pop-up” markets one-day a week from June to the first week of October. Fruits, vegetables, fresh flowers and more are available weekly. You can sign up for a weekly “fresh sheet” update here and information regarding each week’s farmers and other news will be sent directly to your inbox.

The Express Market also offers a Fresh Bucks Program and SNAP, making fresh produce more accessible for everyone.

Please join the Alliance for Pioneer Square, the Pioneer Square BIA, and the Pioneer Square Residents Council to share your concerns and ideas about public safety in our neighborhood. Your input is vitally important and will be key in developing a multifaceted set of strategies regarding street civility and public safety. Those strategies will include:

Advocacy with the Mayor, Police Chief, City Departments and the City Council
Implementation of tools and strategies for neighborhood residents and businesses
Communication strategies

Help us spread the word. Share this open house with your co-workers, neighbors, and friends. Then mark the date on your calendar and drop by any time between 8 AM and 7 PM to join the conversation. This is an all-day open house format so everyone can drop by as schedules allow.

Twenty-six new stores and restaurants have opened in Pioneer Square in 2013. Many of these new restaurants have been featured in the Puget Sound Business Journal, Seattle Met, Seattle Magazine, the New York Times, Bon Appetit, and GQ. There is a lot behind this transformation but the story of Pioneer Square is beginning to change, thanks in part to our advocacy, business development, marketing, and promotion of the neighborhood. Local media is calling us the burgeoning new hot spot of Seattle, while our work and partnerships in the built environment and public safety realm continues to move forward. We can’t stop now!
